Forza Horizon 6 introduces full cross-save, also called cross-progression, making it easier than ever to switch between platforms without losing progress. This is a big step for the series, letting players keep their cars, race history, and player levels synced across Xbox, PlayStation 5, and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store).

Core Cross-Save Features

Unified Progression – All your progress, including unlocked cars (over 550 at launch), player levels, and achievements, moves with you no matter what platform you play on.

Platform Compatibility – Cross-save works on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Windows PC (Microsoft Store), Steam, and handheld PCs like the Steam Deck or ROG Ally.

Server-Side Storage – Saves are stored on Forza’s servers, not just on your console. This means you can switch platforms easily without worrying about local save files.

DLC Entitlements – For digital copies purchased through the Microsoft Store, Xbox Play Anywhere lets you keep your DLC on both Xbox and Windows devices.

Important Purchase Notes

While your save data moves with you, the game license usually does not:

Separate Purchases – If you want to play on PlayStation 5 or Steam, you need to buy a copy for that platform.

Xbox Play Anywhere – Digital purchases from the Microsoft Store work on both Xbox and PC without paying twice.

Release Schedule

  • May 15, 2026: Early Access for Premium Edition owners.
  • May 19, 2026: Official launch on Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam/Microsoft Store), and Game Pass.
  • Late 2026: PlayStation 5 release.

Cross-save in Forza Horizon 6 finally gives you the freedom to jump between devices without losing your hard-earned cars or progress. Whether you’re racing on a PC at home or drifting on the go with a Steam Deck, your Horizon experience stays seamless.
