April resultsWhen we last checked in, the 2025 season was finally under way, albeit only just. The D-backs had split a four-game series at Chase Field with the Cubs, in a high-powered series where the sides combined for a total of 48 runs. The offense had done its job, but the pitching hadnt shown up - with the exception of Corbin Burnes Juan Morillo Jersey, who REALLY hadnt shown up. Naturally, fandom did what fandom does, over-reacting violently to small sample sizes, and some were proclaiming that failing to win the series against the Cubs would be the teams death-knell come the end of the year. I think wed already had the first calls for Torey Lovullos head as well. So what did this do to our confidence?1% - 1were purely in the 8 category. We havent seen more than half agree on the score since October 2021: and there, it was the 1 group. Not much more than half remained there at the start of April. But whats interesting is that both the categories above AND below gained. 7 increased to 34% from 27%; but 9 went up almost the same, to 17% from 9%. However, 6 did hit double digits too, and the overall total dropped about a quarter-point, from 7.51 to 7.27. May pollThe first full month is in the books, and the D-backs are entering the first consistently tough stretch of the schedule. The team has had successes, including taking a series in Yankee Stadium, and a five-game winning streak against the Brewers and Marlins. But there have certainly been painful losses, including one where the team scored ten runs in an inning, and another where we got a four-homer performance from Eugenio Suarez. Some players have been performing at near-MVP level, such as Corbin Carroll. Others have been severely disappointing Luis Gonzalez Jersey, like Lourdes Gurriel. So Im fascinated to learn whether this is a glass half-full or half-empty situation. You could make the case for either and I wouldnt would be what the poll is for.
